The SIPOCA 54 project, presented in the Report on the activity carried out by the Public Ministry in 2018

On February 27, 2019, the Report on the activity carried out by the Public Ministry in 2018 was published. The Report presents the project in a special chapter, called “„Strengthening the capacity of the Public Ministry of implementing evidence gathering procedures in cyber searches – SIPOCA 54”. We continue to reproduce the mentioned text:

„General objectiv of the project is to offer to judiciary a unitary set of working methodologies on the cyber searches and the technical-scientific findings about computer data which are interesting for the prosecution, profesional training for specialists and purchase of hardware and software helpful for cyber searches.

In 2019, the Public Ministry will purchase 60 devices with advanced functions of duplicating removable disks, data communication equipment as well as 50 computer systems. These will be distributed as follows:

  • 19 duplicating devices removable disks for the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice
  • 19 advanced duplicating devices removable disks for the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice
  • one stationary computer system for each of the 15 prosecutor’s offices
  • one 10GBase Ethernet network switch equipment and OPS equipment for the Directorate for Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism
  • one high capacity storage system for the Directorate for Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism.

Each prosecutor’s office attached to the court of appeal will receive a license for FTK information analysis, EnCase and Cellebrite and a Type I2 software for analyzing information. Both purchases will be completed during 2019.

Total amount of the project: 14,056,846, 79 lei
